Becoming truly happy!
This might seem like a stretch for most of you to listen to a 21 year old talk about happiness, but lets start off with my life. When I was born I was born into a well off family with more than enough money, doesn¡¯t sound too bad does it? Around the age of eight my dad lost his job and we had to move, this happens to thousands of people right? We ended up renting a smaller house from one of our family friends for a couple of years. This wasn¡¯t too bad the house was smaller and not as nice as my original house but we were getting by so I was HAPPY. Shortly after that my dad got a new job and was making great money again, things were looking great and we were moving again this time back into our own house. I was really HAPPY now my family was closer than ever and we had our own house again. Every thing was great until one day my mom and dad sat me and my brother down and told us the ¡°bad news.¡± My dad had cancer and needed to have surgery, I was devastated and began to sink into a deep depression, I didn¡¯t know what to do me and my dad were the closest of my whole family. My brother was a great help and was awesome to have around during these hard times. My dad ended up getting the surgery and making a full recovery, I was shocked I heard cancer and thought he was gone for sure. I was the happiest boy ever at this point, I had faced 2 major life changing crisis¡¯s and was made stronger for it. Everything was great we were a family again still in our own house things were getting better everyday. Then it happened again, this time it was brain cancer and there was a very slim chance of survival. I remember going to the hospital every day that summer and visiting my dad, he really was the coolest guy in the world to me. He was in the hospital for what seemed like forever at the time but looking back seems so short, he passed away a couple months later.
My brother, my mom and I were left on our own to defend for ourselves. I was still in high school at this point and found myself working full time hours while going to school just to help out around the house. My brother moved home and helped cover the bills by getting another job. The three of us were getting by the best we could, we didn¡¯t have a lot but we never let that get in the way.
When life throws you a curve ball knock it out of the park, this whole story has a very positive ending. I ended up going to college in hopes of getting a better job to help my family this seemed like a great idea at the time. I had to move away to go to school because that¡¯s the only school I got into. I did my time in school and graduated top of my class and was ready to hit the job market. The only thing I didn¡¯t know was there were no job openings for 19 year old firefighting students. So not only did I not have a lot of money I was in debt $18,000 from college. I was starting to get really down on myself and I was mad that I couldn¡¯t seem to get myself out of this wreck. I had to maxed credit cards and was all ready working overtime at work.

I was completely lost and everyday seem to blend together I wasn¡¯t living the life I wanted. So I started setting goals for myself, personal goals to accomplish every week. I started working out everyday and eating healthy I was starting to feel pretty good and naturally I was starting to look pretty good. Then I started setting finance goals for myself to get myself out of debt. I started saving more money and hardly going out, at first it was awesome I was saving money and thought I was becoming happier because my debt was decreasing. After awhile I started to get sick of being alone and never having any money to do anything else.
