British Gas has decided to pass these savings along to their customers, which comes at just the right time with much of Britain experiencing arctic conditions at the moment.
The company has also promised to offer a small discount to customers who can pay their bills on time, whilst the ¡ê15 on offer may not be a particularly large sum of money, in the current difficult economic situation every little helps.

Last year the government announced a plan to help millions of houses get cheap or free housing insulation, and even if you don¡¯t qualify as one of those houses, insulating your house properly can still save you a lot of money.

Don¡¯t leave radiators on in rooms if you are not using them, and keep some of your dividing doors closed. Most people¡¯s kitchens will provide a lot of excess heat from cooking food, so if you can try to make the most of that heat.
Ultimately, most of the things that you can do to reduce your fuel bills are common sense, and there is nothing more straightforward than wearing a jumper. If you are walking round the house in a t-shirt and feeling comfortable in the middle of the winter then your heating is probably too high. Still, probably the most important factor is your gas supplier, so if you want to reduce your costs make sure that you are getting the best gas deal that you possibly can.
